MSO Side Trips to the CAGSAWA RUINS 💎

The Cagsawa Ruins are the remains of the old Franciscan Cagsawa Church, first established in 1587 in the town of Cagsawa. The church was destroyed in 1636 during attacks by Dutch pirates, then rebuilt in 1724 under Fr. Francisco Blanco. On February 1, 1814, the catastrophic eruption of Mayon Volcano devastated both the church and the surrounding town, leaving behind the iconic bell tower and other ruins that stand today.
