Board of Stewards Report
May 20, 2026 (Wednesday) Philippine Jockey Club

The Board of Stewards summoned Jockey JO L. Siego (Malibu Princess) and Jockey C.V. Garganta (Malibu Bell) to explain their respective performances in the recently concluded race.

• Jockey JO L. Siego (Malibu Princess) stated that his mount has yet to secure a victory at this venue. He explained that at the break, his horse was bumped by another runner, causing it to veer inside and lose proper stride, which resulted in a poor performance. After due consideration, the Board determined that there was a deficiency in his handling of the mount at the early part of the race. He never put pressure on the horse up to the final bend. Jockey started to urge the horse approaching the straight where he made it look like he was very aggressive. Accordingly, Jockey Siego was unanimously penalized with a suspension of 24 racing days for lack of interest. Penalized under PR 76 PP.
• Jockey C.V. Garganta (Malibu Bell) maintained that he rode his horse properly, urging it throughout the race and across all distances. However, the Board did not accept his explanation. After review, the Stewards concluded that his performance was not satisfactory at all and he restrained his mount approaching the straight. Stewards unanimously suspended the jockey, demonstrated lack of interest and imposed a suspension of 24 racing days. Penalized under PR 76 PP.

BACK IN ACTION 🏇

Muling sasakay sa laban si Jockey JD Flores matapos ang 6 na buwang pagkawala sa karera dahil sa 1-year suspension na ipinataw sa kanya kaugnay ng insidente sa kabayong GRAY LARK.

Matatandaang sinabi ng Board of Stewards na hindi umano nag-exert ng sapat na effort ang jockey sa final 100 meters ng karera, dahilan upang siya ay maparusahan sa ilalim ng PR 76.QQ.

Sa mga nagtatanong tungkol sa PhotoFinish ng Race 3 kagabi, narito ang pahayag ni Sir Allan Keith Castro (AKG Castro) tungkol sa isyu ng official photofinish result.

Here are my comments:
1. Ang TV broadcast camera sa ibaba ay lihis sa finish line, ng ilang metro before the finish line. Kaya iba ang angulo ng video at lamang yung kabayo na nasa labas.

2. Ang PJC photofinish ay ang Final Word, hindi po yung screen grab sa TV video. Ang photofinish camera ay naka fix from above the grandstand nakatutok sa meta at hindi maaaring itong galawin. Actually ilang araw na testing iyan bago na fix ang position. Claro ang picture at Final na po yan.

3. HINDI ito na e-edit dahil automatic ang output ng photocomputer. at sa totoo lang walang oras para mag-edit. Walang basehan ang nagsasabi na edited ito.

4. You can’t please everyone. For example, Kapag 6 ang nanalo, mga nakataya naman sa1 ang mag-ba-bash na dinaya sila. Hindi na natin mababago ang kultura ng Pinoy.

5. Rest assured PJC will offer high quality racing, regardless of bashers, so chill lang and enjoy the races! 🍺
