So, have you been watching Daemons of the Shadow Realm? This anime is of the same author of Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
If you’re sleeping on Daemons of the Shadow Realm / Yomi no Tsugai, you’re missing one of the strongest modern supernatural fantasy series right now.
Created by Hiromu Arakawa — the same genius behind Fullmetal Alchemist — this series blends mystery, folklore, action, dark humor, and emotional storytelling in a way only Arakawa can do.
Why anime fans should pay attention:
• Unique supernatural worldbuilding with “Tsugai” spirits that feel fresh and dangerous
• A perfect mix of action, suspense, comedy, and emotional family drama
• Strong character writing instead of generic power fantasy tropes
• Incredible creature designs and battles that would look amazing animated
• The same slow-burn storytelling quality that made Fullmetal Alchemist legendary
The atmosphere feels like classic shonen mixed with rural Japanese mysticism, and every chapter keeps adding new layers to the mystery.
If this gets a proper anime adaptation, it has serious potential to become one of the next breakout supernatural action series.
Start watching now before everyone else catches up.
