Y E L C A S T is the recipient of the 2023 Dangal ng Batangas Award for Visual Arts nd the 2025 Bantog Award for Visual Arts. He represented the Philippines at the XIV Florence Biennale in Italy.

He served as an Art Ambassador for the first Philippine–Moroccan Art and Culture Residency Program and the first Asian-led Arts and Cultural Expedition at the Javett Art Center in South Africa.

He is also among the first Filipino artists to complete the Samrit Art Residency Program in Thailand, with his works showcased internationally in France, Thailand, Italy, Malaysia, Spain, and Germany.

A full-time artist, Yelcast founded Arte Bauan, Visual Poetry Philippines, and Project ArtCanSya and is the current Vice Chairman of Batangas Culture & Arts Council - Visual Arts Sector. Yelcast was also recognized as one of the Outstanding University of the East Alumni for 2025.

Y E L C A S T—recipient of the 2023 Dangal ng Batangan Award for Visual Arts—represented the Philippines at the prestigious XIV Florence Biennale in Italy.

In 2025, he was honored with the BANTOG para sa Sining Biswal (Kategoryang Pangkomunidad) Award by Batangas State University, becoming its youngest recipient—a distinction that highlights his profound impact on community-based arts.

He was also selected as a delegate for the First Philippine–Moroccan Art and Culture Residency, where he conducted an art lecture and workshop at the Université Internationale de Rabat and became one of the pioneering Asian artists to exhibit at the Abla Ababou Galerie in Rabat, Morocco.

Serving as an art ambassador, Yelcast was among the distinguished artists celebrated for their contributions to the first-ever Arts and Cultural Expedition by an Asian country at the Javett Art Center, University of Pretoria, South Africa.

His works have also been showcased internationally in France, Thailand, Malaysia, Spain, and Germany.

Formerly a top-ranked electrical engineer, Yelcast boldly shifted to a full-time art career, earning distinctions such as first place in the On-the-Spot National Pastel Competition and being a three-time semifinalist in the Metrobank National Art Competition.

As the founder of VisualPoetry Philippines, Art’e Bauan, and Project ArtCanSya, he has pioneered Visual Poetry—an innovative art form that unites calligraphy and poetry to craft profound and enduring visual narratives.

May ilang bukang-liwayway na kakulay ng taglagas
Pag may ibang dapithapong liwanag na sumasabog.

Kang minsan ang puting puwang, palawakin man ng iyak,
Ay nagiging isang pumpon ng kandilang di maupos.

Hanggang kaya mong gumising at kaya kong managinip;
Kaya nating pag isahin-ang darating at aalis.

Habang may kapangyarihan ang pangarapin at mangarap.
Walang laban ang kahapong matuldukan ang susunod.

Bakit ba may inaasam tayong ayaw pang maganap?
Pagkat ngayon ay may noong bukas pa natin ang handog?
