BAPH VISUALS Concept
AYA
I’ve always been fascinated by messy places. As a photographer, I find beauty in streets that feel busy, loud, and a bit chaotic. Crowded sidewalks, random objects, uneven walls, and people constantly moving. Most people see disorder, but through the lense it can turn into something visually interesting. The chaos creates texture, movement, and composition.
The streets especially inspire me. There is always something happening. Light hits different surfaces, people pass through the frame, and small moments appear unexpectedly. When captured at the right time, even the busiest place can become art in the eye of a photographer.
While researching this idea, I came across the concept of Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. Instead of hiding the cracks, it highlights them and treats them as part of the object’s story. That idea stayed with me.
It made me think about how imperfections can make an image more interesting. Messy environments, uneven lighting, or small unplanned moments can add character to a photograph.
