Chino fell into theater by accident via a high school production of "South Pacific", where he played the part of Lt. After that performance he was invited to join the cast of Repertory Philippines' "Yankee Pankee 98". In 2006, he returned to the theater as a member of De La Salle Zobel's Act 25 theater group, playing the roles of Judas "Godspell" , Papa Ge in "Once on this Island", the Jester in "
Once Upon a Mattress", Kenickie in "Grease" , Charlemagne in "Pippin", and most recently as Judas in "Jesus Christ Superstar" all but the first of these directed by Michael Williams. Along with Williams and some other DLSZ alumni, he became a founding member and Company Manager of TDS (Theater Down South), with whom he has appeared in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (Puck), "Rapunzel" (Simon the Valet), "Treasure Island" (Long John Silver), โThe Princess and the Red Carpโ (Red Carp), as well as several corporate shows. He also appeared in the Philippine Opera Company's highly acclaimed production of "Master Class", as the stagehand , as Pseudolus in Theater Down South's production of Sondheim's "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" , as part of the cast of Ed Gatchalian's "Insular Life: A Musical Journey in C Major", Trumpets production of "Little Mermaid" in Lebanon, Repertory Philippines' "Peter Pan", "Wizard of Oz" (Wizard), "Camp Rock" (Axel), 4th Wall Theater Company's production of "Rivalry" and Trumpets 4Faith series "Castrato". Chino is a Karate World Cup Silver Medalist and a SEA Games Gold Medalist. He was the Karatedo coach of the Philippine National Karatedo team for the 2005 SEA Games and is currently the Karatedo coach of De La Salle Zobel. He is also part owner of AAK in SM Megamall and BMP Adidas Martial Arts Equipment.
