In oscillating between granular and panoramic scales, Nicole Asares articulates a fascination with the rhythms that shape human life.

For Asares, patterns emerge through these interactions. Seemingly ordinary activitiesโ€”walking, running, looking, for exampleโ€”are in fact assemblages of our relations with the world, informed by actions, emotions, and memories that impress themselves upon one another.

Through traveling and research, he has allowed himself to be positively influenced โ€” improving his life and his art style from what he has learned. ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฌ ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ, ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜จ๐˜ฉ๐˜ต by Kim Borja recalls a special relationship with light ever since childhoodโ€”connecting the memory to those she feels responsible for, rekindling her sense of hope and purpose throughout her life.

Through marrying expressionist and realist techniques, Vincent de Pio (b. 1979) gives his interpretation of Japanese motifs a unique personal vision. More than being fascinated by Japanโ€™s rich pop culture, he is also fascinated by the image of the past and the present, placing geishas and warriors in movie-like contemporary settings.

A holder of Bachelor of Fine Arts (Major in Painting), de Pio is one of the most sought-after artists of his generation, having exhibited at Art Fair Philippines, Art Stage Jakarta, Singapore Biennale, and Art Kaohsiung; as well as being an auction favorite in Hong Kong and Singapore. He has participated in over 20 group exhibitions here and abroad.

Nicole Asares is a visual artist known for her distinctive use of textured lines, combining zen-doodles with playful patterns like dots, curves, and orbs to produce dynamic, expressive paintings. Inspired by the whimsy of cartoons and the charm of everyday life, her artworks evoke humor and lightheartedness. With bold, graphic lines, Nicoleโ€™s creations exude a sense of movement and energy that captivates viewers.

Her works have been showcased in over 30 group exhibitions across the Philippines. In 2023, she was a finalist in the GSIS Art Competition. Asares was also a semi-finalist in the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence (MADE) Awards in both 2019 and 2022, and a finalist in the 2020 Shell National Student Art Competition.

Kim Borja artfully weaves elements from childrenโ€™s stories, constructing wide-eyed characters that skillfully convey a sense of melancholy and grief, creating a unique and enthralling artistic experience.
