Amiel Gerald A. Roldan When I started my prints about the HIV virus and AIDS in 1995, I was disturbed about the lack of awareness of Filipinos and about the looming situation.

I thought that by portraying them in my lifelong works, then I could contribute in a simple way... AMIEL GERALD A. ROLDAN (b. 1972) Mandaluyong, Philippines. An interdisciplinary art practitioner. He is a Starr Foundation Fund Fellow, and an alumnus of the Vermont Studio Center. He is a Grantee for the Asian Cultural Council; Awardee for The Artist Resident Space from Chashama. His works have been

shown at galleries and museums domestically and internationally such as the Lisa H. Mackie Gallery Studios in New York; The International Studio and Curatorial Program in New York City; Singapore National Museum in Singapore; the Fukuoka Prefectural Museum, Fukuoka, Japan; the Jorge P. Vargas Museum in Manila; The Ateneo Museum of Modern Art in Manila; Ayala Museum in Manila; and the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
