Over the past few months, as many countries around the world went into lockdown, the reduced human mobility and temporary pause in man-made pollution provided one bright spot in the midst of dark times: nature appeared to be healing. But it takes more than a few months at home to heal the planet, and so humans must figure out how to actively steward the health of the environment and live in it sustainably.

“In the time of the Coronavirus, we are advised to follow protocols to prevent the spreading of the virus, but evidently, people don't seem to understand the effectiveness of social distancing in curbing transmission of the virus. As simple as it is, it’s still not practiced by many, who may not know how contagious the virus is and its effects on our health. I hope the message of this sculpture can clearly educate people not to 'move a little closer.’”
