PS: This is a POV of the girl from the song Diary by Bread. I've always loved listening to Bread, and I thought why not write something from the girl's side, imagining how she might respond? Just my own take on what she would feel or say. šŸ«¶šŸ»šŸ˜ø

~Two world In Silence~

You said we'd be together.

That it would never end.

I believed you-

not because I was naive,

but because I wanted it to be true.

Then you left.

No reason,

no explanation.

Just the weight of you gone

from everything.

I still sleep on one side of the bed.

Old habits don't break

just because people do.

I thought I was strong enough.

But there are nights

when I lie still

and feel something cracking inside my chest.

Not loudly.

Just a soft, persistent break.

I tell myself I've let go.

But I still catch myself

waiting for a message

that never comes.

My mother said

someone who makes you question yourself

is not someone worth keeping.

She also said

you can love someone

and still be wrong about them.

I don't think you hated me.

I think you didn't know

what to do with the part of me

that needed something real.

And now,

here we are-

on opposite ends of something

we never named.

it's over,

but it doesn't feel finished.

You belong to your world.

I belong to mine.

But some nights,

when everything is quiet,

I still wonder

if you ever think about me

the way I still

sometimes

think about you.

Maria Alexandra written by yours truly.

It's a poem about a childhood friend with whom you once shared everything. But as the years passed and you both grew older, the closeness faded—until you became strangers.

*Your Side Of The Desk *

In the corridors of our youth,
you stood
not in front, not behind
but beside me.

Small in height,
quiet steps,
you carried more than my bag
you carried time.

I noticed you first.
A glance turned into a season.

Your smile,
the way you leaned closer each class,
as if the desk between us
was a fading border.

Laughter spilled freely then
the kind only freshmen understand.

You waited.

Through chalk-smeared years
and cap-and-gown dreams,
you waited.

Past late-night messages
and unanswered maybes,
you waited.

And I
I never opened the door wide enough.

Never turned friendship into something more
because I was afraid,
or because I already knew.

But here we are now:
you, with two stars orbiting your world,
and one carries the name
we once half-joked would be our child's.

You remembered
even when I forgot
how to believe in that kind of promise.

I'm sorry for the wait.
I'm sorry it was me.

Still,
thank you
for the gentle spaces we shared,
the real ones.

The happiness that needed no label.

And I am
truly
glad you are happy.
