Slowly the day descends,
When colors burst a moment,
Like blending paints on a palette.

In an ol' plain neighborhood
That is only lovely at dusk,
Stirs a bit of sentimental awe.

A framed photo of nostalgia,
For even just fifteen minutes,
A fleeting glimpse of beauty.


It portends danger,Yet the human curiosityIs often enchanted to exploreThe secrets in the dark woods.Mayhap at the twist...

The secrets in the dark woods.

Mayhap at the twisted edge
Of the haunting enigmatic forest,
A lost fairy tale might surface,
Waiting to be awakened or rescued.

Faint amid the downpour
Of April showers on a summer day.

I hear thee clearly,
Such sweet cadence,
O little bird: free, invisible, and happy.

I hear thee.

Dry... barren... tired...
Sticks and skeletons...
For now, it looks lifeless
Yet the trunk stands upright,
Deeply rooted on the ground.
Waiting for the summertime breeze
To blow some hopeful warmth,
Onto the twisted bare branches
For the sprouts of sapling leaves
Waken from the wintry slumber.
To see a verdant rich foliage,
Let time allow the unhurried growth,
For us to see the beauty of a tree.

Days have become squares,
Trap along the cornered points,
Moving only in limited boundaries,
Like a pawn on the chessboard,
That could not charge forward,
Nor slice clean diagonally.

The white and the black,
Have meld into grays;
Longing for capture by the enemy,
Rather than stay stuck in
The endless cycle of uncertainty.
