Qualifiers from Capiz State University (CAPSU)- Mambusao Satellite College attended the orientation program on February 13 at CAPSU-Roxas City (Main) Campus in preparation for the upcoming Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (RASUC) Culture and the Arts Festival and Conference 2026 on February 20-24 hosted by the University of Antique.
Intercampus Meet winners Yeshua Regan M. Pascua and Kin F. Sabala along with Prof. Kimberly Azarcon, campus socio-cultural coordinator, joined fellow delegates from other campuses as they prepare for the gathering of talented students from state universities and colleges in Region VI.
During the Intercampus Meet held in December last year, Sabala clinched the gold medal in dramatic monologue and oral interpretation of poetry while Pascua dominated the violin playing.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Annalie G. Campos in her opening remarks highlighted the significance of the event and the delegatesโ role in representing the University.
โOf the 21,000 plus students enrolled at Capiz State University, there are only 276 delegates coming from CAPSU. You are the chosen ones. Among those brightest and smartest students of CAPSU, you are the ones chosen to compete at the regional level,โ Dr. Campos said.
She also emphasized that competence, mastery, determination, and faith serve as the delegatesโ greatest strength as they prepare for the competition.
Meanwhile, Dr. Jay Ann L. Gregorio, Director for Student Affairs and Services, served as the resource speaker.
She discussed proper conduct and discipline, health and safety protocols, and emergency preparedness to ensure the well-being of all participants during the regional event.
The schedule of activities was presented by Prof. Francis John Degala, Pontevedra Campus socio-cultural affairs coordinator, providing delegates with a clear overview of the upcoming festival and conference.
Meanwhile, Prof. Angeline L. Vestidas, Socio-Cultural Affairs Director, in her closing remarks, reminded the participants to be guided with what had been discussed in the orientation.
โLet this orientation serve as our blueprint for a well-organized, meaningful, and successful Regional Culture and the Arts Festival and Conference 2026,โ Prof. Vestidas said.
She also expressed gratitude to the coaches and socio-cultural affairs coordinators for their continued support and dedication.
RASUC is an annual gathering of state universities and colleges in the region, showcasing studentsโ talents in culture and the arts while promoting excellence, discipline, and camaraderie among participating institutions.
The orientation formally prepared CAPSU delegates as they gear up to represent the University in the regional stage.
