The Philippines holds massive untapped mineral reserves that could bring major economic opportunities to the country.

PHILIPPINES HOLDS OVER $840 BILLION IN UNTAPPED MINERAL WEALTH

The Philippines is estimated to possess more than $840 billion worth of untapped mineral resources, including large deposits of copper, gold, nickel, and chromite formed through millions of years of geological activity along the Pacific Ring of Fire.

Experts said the country’s mineral wealth could support economic growth and resource development, but warned that large-scale mining may also lead to environmental damage, biodiversity loss, and displacement of local communities if not properly regulated.

Specialists emphasized the importance of responsible mining, environmental safeguards, and sustainable resource management to balance economic benefits with long-term environmental protection.
