“Filipinos are extremely artistic. The Italians are also artistic people. They are romantic and dramatic, so I think this intellectual, sentimental and Latin way of expressing ourselves is something that brings a great collaboration.”

Mrs. Silvana Ancellotti-Diaz, Italian Art Director of Galleria Duemilla, PIA Director, and long standing former VP of PIA’s Cultural Commmittee, shares her pursuit of Francesco Riccardo Monti’s sculptures in the Philippines.

After years of interest in his work, she was contacted by a fellow researcher on Monti’s sculptures in the Philippines and later on, by his granddaughter-in-law. Mrs. Ancellotti-Diaz notes how it was like a “divine connection”, how Monti’s work had gained traction and connection in both the Philippines and Italy.

Tune in to the video to find out more about Francesco Riccardo Monti and his collaboration with Arch. Juan Arellano!
