Solace, an exhibition showcasing more than 140 photographs and multimedia work by 46 visual journalists, photographers, and videographers from across Asia, opens to the public on October 10 at Kapitolyo Art Space in Pasig City.

Featuring photographers and visual journalists from the Philippines, Bangladesh, India, Mongolia, Nepal, and beyond, the exhibition brings together the work of current students and alumni of the visual journalism programmes at the Asian Center for Journalism (ACFJ), Ateneo de Manila University.

Solace presents Asia’s hardest moments while looking closely at the people who live through them – their tenderness and joy, the small acts of care, courage, and solidarity that help communities endure.

The exhibition was curated by Veejay Villafranca (Veejay Villafranca) and is presented by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Media Programme Asia in partnership with the ACFJ.

The exhibit will also be on view in Chiang Mai, Thailand and at Areté at Ateneo de Manila University in November.

Kapitolyo Art Space, Pasig City, Philippines

Maraming salamat Tarlac National High School at especially kay Ms. Phie, for inviting me as your resource speaker in the Municipal Schools Press Conference.

It is such an honor and previlege to share my knowledge and expertise with these young campus journalists. I do hope I inspired them to continue on this craft and create more meaningful stories that are relevant and truthful.

I also learned a lot from them, especially from my experience as a speaker and judge. It was a great experience to share what I know while also learning from the young journalists themselves.

Maraming salamat po sa opportunity!

While most of us photographers in the field use high-end cameras that can shoot 10–20 frames per second, this photographer chose to be different, shooting the Venice Film Festival exclusively on film. Lupet!
