A little something you might have missed. đź‘€

Come and take a look at "Stellar Collections" by Various Artists at the Atrium of Uptown Mall, Bonifacio Global City. 🌟

Art thrives through difference. It develops through the many ways artists interpret the world, shaped by distinct histories, methods, materials, and sensibilities. Stellar Collections brings together works by Aldrino Abes, Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, Aljo Pingol, Almer Moneda, Ann Moneda, William Alvarez, Richard Arimado, Jo Balbarona, Amador Barquilla, RV Basco, Xander Calceta, Norberto Carating, Kat Cuenca, Antonio Daleon, Patrick Esmao, Fai Co, James Gabito, Sheila Go, Raul Isidro, Jerry Morada, Oliver Ojeda, Carlo Ongchangco, Perfecto Palero, Sonny Palles, Ronnel Cainto, Eufemio Rasco, Juvenal Sanso, and Edwin Wilwayco. Across generations and approaches, these artists demonstrate the breadth of contemporary Philippine art and the continued relevance of individual expression within an expanding cultural landscape.

Such variety reflects how art continues to change without abandoning what came before. The presence of established masters alongside contemporary practitioners creates a sense of continuity between generations, yet the exhibition resists the idea of a single artistic lineage. Philippine art has always developed through multiple directions at once, informed by personal experience, cultural inheritance, experimentation, and changing social conditions. What connects these works is therefore not a shared style, but the commitment to making art as a sustained act of seeing and thinking.

🖼️ The exhibit will run until August 21, 2026.

📍The exhibit is located on the Atrium of Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Here’s a look back at last Saturday, when guests gathered at Galerie Joaquin Rockwell for the artist reception of "Mountain Rhapsody" by Edwin Wilwayco. ⛰️

In this, the artist fulfills the celebrated injunction of the French poet Stéphane Mallarmé: not to paint the thing itself, but the effect it produces. The mountain before him is transformed into the mountain within him. What the viewer encounters is not landscape but experience—nature translated into feeling, matter transfigured into energy, and the visible world reborn as sensation.

For Edwin Wilwayco, the mountain is less a place than a state of being: immense, restless, and forever ascending.

🖼️ The exhibition will run from August 7 to 17, 2026 at Galerie Joaquin Rockwell

📍 The gallery is located at R3 Level, Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Center, Makati.

Wishing Ycoy Sitchon a Happy Birthday! 🎂

After graduating from the University of the Philippines with a degree in Economics, Sitchon embarked on a remarkable journey, traversing the worlds of international advertising and banking. Her tenure as a government securities trader and investment banker laid the groundwork for her exceptional leadership skills, which she later brought to La Belle Fête. During her stewardship, La Belle Fête rose to prominence, etching its name as one of the foremost event companies in the Philippines. But it was during the tumultuous times of the COVID-19 pandemic that Sitchon’s resilience shone brightest. Demonstrating uncanny adaptability and entrepreneurial spirit, she founded three new enterprises, each uniquely tailored to meet the evolving demands of their clientele.

However, Sitchon’s true metamorphosis began when she exchanged the calculative precision of banking for the boundless realms of art. Her love affair with painting, rooted in childhood memories of her grandmother’s garden, blossomed into a distinctive style that merges abstraction with representation. Through her art, Sitchon creates a dialogue between viewer and canvas, using a blend of undefined lines, dramatic compositions, and a spectrum of colors that evoke both whimsy and profundity.

An evening of art, dialogue, and shared appreciation. 👨‍🎨

Our sincere thanks to everyone who joined us for the artist reception of "Mountain Rhapsody" by Edwin Wilwayco. It was an evening where art became a space for encounter, reflection, and shared experience.

In this exhibit, the mountain emerges not as a place, but as a metaphor for a state of being; immense, restless, and forever ascending. The ascent has begun, and its destination is closer than it appears. 🏔️

🖼️ The exhibition will run until August 17, 2026 at Galerie Joaquin Rockwell

📍 The gallery is located at R3 Level, Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Center, Makati.
