4th Sunday of Lent

“Once I was blind, but now I see.” (John 9:25)

In today’s Gospel, Jesus heals the man who was born blind, revealing Himself as the Light of the World. More than physical healing, the story reminds us that Christ opens our spiritual eyes so that we may see God’s presence in our lives. While some claimed to see yet remained blind in faith, the once-blind man encountered Jesus and came to believe in Him.

As we continue our Lenten journey, may we ask the Lord to heal our own blindness—our doubts, pride, and fears—so that we may walk as children of the light and recognize His grace at work in our lives.

Thank you, Lord, for the gift of music and the opportunity to serve Your people through song.

PCSO Chorale named Grand Prix champion in Korea International Choir Competition

INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA — The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Chorale on Sunday (March 1) emerged victorious as Grand Prix Champion at the Korea International Choir Competition 2026, besting 47 other chorales in the highly competitive event held at the Incheon National University.

Facing chorales from Indonesia, South Korea, Russia, Taiwan, Malaysia, the United States, Poland, and the Philippines, the PCSO Chorale secured the championship with its performances of “Puer Natus in Bethlehem” and “Te Lucis Ante Terminum” during the finals, which was adjudicated by a 14-member international jury composed of choral experts and music professionals.

Apart from winning the top prize, the PCSO Chorale also clinched gold medals in both categories it competed in: the Sacred Music Category and the Mixed Category.

As the Grand Prix winner, the group secured a spot in the prestigious Asia Choral Grand Prix, which gathers top-winning choirs from major international choral competitions across the region.

In other category results, Central Bicol State University won a gold medal in the Pop and Jazz Category and a silver medal in the Mixed Category.

Special awards were also presented during the competition. Eunmi Yu of the Gyeyang District Boys and Girls Choir (South Korea) received the Best Conductor Award, while The Children’s Choir of the Ekaterinburg State Opera and Ballet Theater (Russia) won Best Choreography.

The PCSO Chorale was led by choir conductor Robert Delgado and choir master Tristan Ignacio.

PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles said the 2026 KICC marked the first time the PCSO Chorale joined an international competition.

“This remarkable achievement reflects the extraordinary talent and dedication of the PCSO Chorale. Their victory brings pride not only to our institution but to the entire Filipino nation. Through music, they have once again demonstrated the excellence and global competitiveness of Filipino artists,” Robles said.

Established in 1998, the PCSO Chorale is composed of employees of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office. The group was revitalized in September 2023 under the leadership of General Manager Melquiades Robles and Choir Conductor Robert Delgado.

The Korea International Choir Competition is a premier international choral event that debuted in Songdo, South Korea and features competitions, guest performances, workshops, masterclasses, and a K-pop concert.

The PCSO Chorale’s qualification to the 7th Asia Choral Grand Prix in Manila in August 2027 marks another milestone for the group following its first foray into international competition.

Robles assured continued institutional support for the chorale as it prepares for the next stage.

“We will continue to support the PCSO Chorale in its pursuit of excellence. Their dedication and hard work inspire us, and we remain committed to providing them opportunities to grow and represent the Philippines with pride,” he said.

1st Sunday of Lent

Coro Jesu was blessed to serve in today’s Holy Mass, offering our voices and hearts in praise and thanksgiving.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us that faith is not just about words, but about living out God’s will with sincerity and love. We are called not only to listen, but to act — to forgive, to serve, and to trust God completely even when it’s difficult.

May the Word we heard today take root in our hearts and inspire us to be instruments of His peace wherever we go.

To God be all the glory! ✨

Coro Jesu was blessed to serve at the 8:00 PM Ash Wednesday Mass tonight. 🙏🕊️

As we begin the sacred season of Lent, today’s Gospel reminds us from Matthew 6:1–6, 16–18 to pray, fast, and give alms—not for recognition, but for God. Jesus calls us to go into the quiet of our hearts, where our Father who sees what is hidden will reward us.

Ash Wednesday is not just about receiving ashes on our foreheads—it is a humble reminder that we are dust, and to dust we shall return. It invites us to repentance, renewal, and a deeper relationship with the Lord. This season is a journey back to Him—through sincerity, sacrifice, and love.

May this Lent be a time of true conversion for all of us. Let us return to God with all our hearts. 🤍

6th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Coro Jesu was blessed to serve and sing at the 6:00 PM Mass today. 🙏🎶

As we offered our voices in praise, today’s Gospel reminded us that following Christ is not just about words, but about living out our faith with humility, love, and obedience. We are called to listen attentively to God’s voice and allow His Word to shape our actions each day.

May the songs we sing not only be heard within the church walls, but also be reflected in the way we serve, forgive, and love others.

Thank you, Lord, for the privilege to serve You through music. 💙

11:40 PM Midnight Devotional Mass

Grateful to serve the Midnight Devotional Mass as one community in faith and song 🤍🎶

Coro Jesu was honored to offer our voices in praise, lifting every prayer to God through sacred music.

Today’s Gospel invites us to listen with open hearts—reminding us that true holiness flows from within. As we also commemorate Our Lady of Lourdes, we are called to humility, trust, and healing: to bring our brokenness to God and allow His grace to restore us. Like Mary, may we continue to say yes to God’s will and become instruments of His love for others.

May our music always lead hearts closer to Christ.

January 25, 6:00PM Mass
3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

Grateful to once again serve the Lord through music at the 6:00 PM Mass. As we lift our voices in praise, we are reminded that every song is a prayer offered back to God.

Today’s Gospel calls us to be true witnesses of Christ—to go out into the world and proclaim His love, not only through words, but through our lives. Like St. Paul’s conversion, we are reminded that God can transform hearts and use each of us, despite our past, for His greater mission.

May we continue to serve with humility, faith, and joyful hearts, bringing others closer to Christ through sacred music.

To God be all the glory.

Our Story

In the year 2005, the choir was established and named as Bambini de San Giovanni Choir. A children’s choir of St. John Marie Vianney Parish which was handled by Miss Cecile Manila Nonaka. Having more than sixty members, the choir flourished and was invited to various events outside their parish.

In the year 2011, as the members are at their teen age years, Rev. Fr. Jimmy Marquez decided to change the name of the group to Junior Teens Choir of San Antonio de Padua. In that same year, the late Mr. Jerome Bryan Guiuan voluntarily handled the choir. They were able to join competitions such as MBC National Choral Competition in 2012 and Himig ng Kabataan Alay Kay Don Bosco.

In the year 2014, as the members mature to young adults, the members asked Fr. Jimmy to change the name of the group. The group was then named as Coro Jesu.

In the year 2017, Mr. Itchie Boy Montilla, a member of the Philippine Madrigal Singers, eagerly took the group in his care. Coro Jesu was then invited to serve at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in one of the afternoon masses.
