31/31: Our Lady of Pontmain, pray for us. This is the title given to the Virgin Mary on her apparition at Pontmain, France on 17 January 1871. During the devastation of the Franco-Prussian War, Mary appeared on a farm to students at the nearby convent school. Mary's message was written on a banner that unfurled from her feet: "But pray my children. God will hear you in a short time. My Son allows Himself to be moved by compassion." Our Lady of Pontmain aka Our Lady of Hope, pray for us as we transition to GCQ, Amen.

30/31: Our Lady of Beauraing, pray for us. “The world was staggering under the burdens of the catastrophic financial collapse of 1929, which led to the Great Depression in 1932. But soon after, the world was to be hurled once more into a devastating World War II. Thus, on Nov.29,1932, Beauraing, Belgium, Our Lady appeared thirty-three times to five children most of the time on a May tree—Mary's tree! garbed in an unspeakable light, more dazzling than the sun. Here as at Fatima, she was dressed in spotless white & her first request was: “Always be good,” & on Dec.29th, Our Lady appeared, opened her arms and revealed on her breast a Heart of Gold. On Dec.30th, Our Lady said: “Pray. Pray very much.” On her final appearance, Jan.3,1933, she promised: “I will convert sinners.” Upon saying “goodbye”, she said: “I am the Mother of God, the Queen of Heaven. Pray always”. Our Lady of Beauraing, Immaculate Virgin, bring to Jesus, your Son, all the intentions that we entrust to you today,Amen.

29/31: Our Lady of Knock, pray for us. “On August 21, 1879, Ireland was plagued by poverty, hunger and oppression. At about 7:30 in the evening, Mary Byrne was accompanying Mary McLoughlin, the priest’s housekeeper, to her home. As they came in sight of the wall of the little parish church, they saw an astonishing light & exclaimed, “It’s the Blessed Virgin!” She was in the center of the apparition & was wearing a gold crown and clothed in white garments. Her hands were raised in prayer & her eyes gazed toward heaven. To her right was her spouse, St. Joseph, and to her left was St. John the Evangelist, who was attired as a bishop. The enigma of the apparition at Knock was its silence. The Irish people had suffered and done penance enough; no suffering or pain should ever be wasted.” Our Lady of Knock, pray for our country as we face the economic consequences of this Pandemic.

28/31: Our Lady of La Salette, pray for us. “On September 19, 1846, Mary the Mother of God, appeared to two shepherd children on the slope of a mountain in the French Alps, near the village of La Salette in France. The “Beautiful Lady”, as they called her, was seated on a stone, her elbows resting on her knees, her face buried in her hands, weeping bitterly. She rose, calming the children’s fear by her reassuring look and maternal voice. She told them the cause of her tears: disobedience to the laws of God and of the Church, blasphemy, failure to keep the Lord’s day and lack of prayer. Our Lady of La Salette, Reconciler of Sinners, pray without ceasing for us who have recourse to you”.

26/31: Virgin of Torreciudad, pray for us. From historian accounts, this Romanesque elm wood statue was venerated in the 11th century but was hidden during the Arab domination. The small chapel that had housed the statue was replaced by a sanctuary in Aragon, Spain built under the direction of Saint Josemaria Escriva as thanksgiving and out of his great devotion to Our Lady. When Josemaria was two years old, he became seriously ill and the doctor told his mother that her baby was going to die, & that he would come back in the morning to get the body. His mother begged the intercession of Our Lady of Torreciudad and promised that if her son was healed, she would bring him on a pilgrimage to the shrine. Next day the doctor came by to ask what time the child had died during the night, and was amazed when the parents told him, not only did he not die, but was completely well and playing in his crib.

24/31: Our Lady of Aparecida, pray for us. “Historical accounts have it that 3 fishermen had cast their nets but caught no fish, so started invoking the Blessed Mother. Then in a final attempt, as they lifted the net, it turned out to be not fish, but a headless statue of the Blessed Virgin. Then they cast their nets again & this time it held the head from the very same statue. They picked up both pieces & found that they fitted perfectly together. When the fisherman began to pull the net back in, they found that they could hardly lift the net as it was bulging with fish. The story of the statue & the immense catch of fish spread & every evening people came to pay homage to the Blessed Virgin. They gave it the name Aparecida, “She who appeared.” Soon a little chapel was erected, but due to larger crowds coming, a bigger church was built. She was declared Patroness of Brazil & her Basilica is 2nd largest in the world, next to St. Peter’s in Rome & is the largest Marian shrine in the world.

22/31: Our Lady of Good Remedy, pray for us. “Devotion to Mary under this title is well known throughout Europe and Latin America. Her feast day is October 8 and she is depicted as the Blessed Virgin handing a bag of money to John of Matha. We should all remember that whenever we are having a difficult time obtaining help with something, no matter how complicated it may seem, we can invoke Our Lady of Good Remedy. She is simply waiting to hear from you.”
