Many newer gaming consoles have come and gone since the Sega Dreamcast, but it still remains one of my all-time favorites.
It was the console that introduced me to the concept of open-world gaming through Shenmue, my first true online multiplayer experience with Phantasy Star Online, and the birth of the NBA 2K franchise. I still remember the chaos of 4-player split-screen Quake sessions, intense Power Stone battles with friends, and finally having a near-perfect arcade experience at home with Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
The Dreamcast wasn’t just ahead of its time, it helped define some of my greatest gaming memories. Some consoles entertain you, but a few become part of your story forever.
