Kyle Amoroto defeats fellow Filipino young gun Alexis Ferrer, 9-4, to capture the 2026 Formosa Cup International Pool Open title in Taipei, Taiwan.

Amoroto takes home the US$15,000 champion’s prize, while Ferrer earns US$8,000 as runner-up.

The victory adds another major international title to Amoroto’s growing résumé after he also captured the 2026 Peri-Laili Cup in China last April, where he defeated fellow Filipino Anton Raga, 15–10, in the final.

Both Amoroto and Ferrer had to go through a gauntlet of some of Asia’s strongest players to reach this all-Filipino final, and their performances throughout the tournament were something Filipino fans can be proud of.

Both have already shown that they can win on the international stage, and performances like this only strengthen the belief that these two talented young players will be among those carrying the Philippine flag in major tournaments for many years to come.
