Why is it that most new school moves/steps don’t seem to live on as long as mid and old school ones?
Has the quality of moves lessened or has the mindset of the students changed with the growth of dance tourism to Jamaica?

Too much dance moves/steps are being created or re-released, its now impossible to differentiate these moves.. Whats the Difference between step and dance moves? Quantity overpowering quality...

Many times foreigners seem to focus on learning steps, rather than learning and studying the groove of the moves. Why is it that foreign students seem disappointed when they come to a class and learn the same movement as in their previous class? Let me ask you something, did you catch in one class? OK say u did. So next time you go back to Jamaica you don’t want to practice that move with us again because you already consider yourself to have learnt it? Is it more important to learn many steps than to learn groove?
But at the same time, the same students will go to an old or mid school class and repeat over the same steps that they have done for years, without anyone questioning why they didn’t learn moves they didn’t know before.

Who run dancehall tho? Because It's not just the foreigners requesting steps, it's also the jamaican dancers themselves who keep creating and releasing new steps rapidly. Every day there are new steps released on the internet. For what purpose?

Younger dance groups focus on 1-3 maximum yearly i recommend.
It's not negative to do class with the same moves multiple times. You cannot catch the moves in one class. And teachers need to learn how to teach same steps in different classes without making it boring and repetitive for the students.

Wah gwaan! We are holding a fundraising dance for a cause workshop for Kaye's family and for her baby boy.

👉 Kaye was one of the pioneers of Dancehall Iloilo. Her passion in dance, not just dancehall, but dance in general, has inspired us to continue even more. We dedicate this class to her. For she is now in God's hands.
