🎄 A Call for Generous Hearts 🎄

As the days go by so quickly, we sometimes don’t realize that the “BER” months are already here! Once again, our organization is blessed to be part of spreading joy and celebrating the patron saint of children around the world—a miraculous saint whose name is behind the beloved tradition of Santa Claus: St. Nicholas of Myra.

This year, we do not have a Hermano Mayor. Instead, we are humbly encouraging everyone with a generous heart to become part of our advocacy of bringing smiles to children and the young at heart.

BATTLE OF THE JUDGES

Throughout our journey, our team has had the honor of representing our organization on both national and international stages. One of the most memorable competitions we joined was Battle of the Judges on GMA Network.

Our head judge and coach was the head of Sparkle GMA Artist Center Atty. Annette Gozon Valdez. We performed her masterpiece, Maria Clara at Ibarra a Gen Z historical fantasy drama that inspires young people to appreciate the literary works of our National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal.

Gawang Kabataan para sa mga Kabataan!

One of the projects of Shadow Arts Theater Organization (SATO) was the Historical Puppet Art Festival, held during the 2024 Leyte Gulf Landings Anniversary in the municipality of Palo, Leyte. The event was supported by the LGU of Palo in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). This project aimed to encourage young people to embrace our arts and culture through shadow puppetry and giant puppetry, which have been part of our traditions since the early 1900s.

The youth members of SATO organized this project for their fellow youth. A total of 30 participants joined the puppet workshop, while more than 1,000 guests and visitors attended the exhibit.

SATO plans to continue this project and expand it in the coming years for the benefit of the youth and the community. Through this initiative, we hope to educate more people about our historical heritage, promote appreciation of our traditional arts and preserve these valuable cultural practices for future generations.
