๐ก๐ฒ๐๐ | Anihan partners with ADSK Katorse to Amplify Passion Play Through Media and Storytelling
In a collaborative effort to strengthen media coverage and documentation, the Anihan Publication of Leon National High School partnered with the Ang Dalan Sang Krus (ADSK) Katorse Production Team from March to April 2026, covering both the preparation and staging of this yearโs Passion Play, a theatrical presentation of the Stations of the Cross traditionally performed during Holy Week.
Carrying the theme, โAng Dalan Sang Krus Katorse: Kag ang Pulong Nahimo nga Tawo,โ the production highlighted the realities of suffering and the social issues faced by Filipinos, particularly those in marginalized sectors, grounding the narrative in both faith and contemporary societal experiences.
As the production progressed, Anihan journalists worked closely with the ADSK Media Team, assisting in documenting key activities and producing various media outputs, including publication materials, captions, editorials, and editorial cartoons aligned with the theme. The team also spearheaded information dissemination through social media platforms, providing the public with updates and behind-the-scenes glimpses of the preparation process.
Beyond promotion, the collaboration emphasized storytelling as a form of service, capturing the dedication and experiences of the people behind the production. Through livestreaming, photo and video documentation, pubmats, and write-ups, the partnership framed the Passion Play not only as a performance, but as a collective narrative of faith, art, and social realities.
โThis collaboration between the ministry and the school publication allowed me to develop new skills, such as setting up livestreams, directing camera angles during performances, adapting to technical challenges, and becoming more confident in handling behind-the-scenes responsibilities,โ said Kurt Vincent Capilastique, Anihan staffer and ADSK livestream crew member.
The ADSK 14 production spanned several weeks of preparation, culminating in Holy Week performances that included the Prologue, Main Act, and Epilogue, held across selected venues in Leon, Iloilo, with continuous media coverage throughout the entire duration.
Through this partnership, both the ADSK Production Team and Anihan Publication demonstrated how media and ministry can converge to amplify stories of faith, sacrifice, and hope, reinforcing the role of student journalism and creative production as vital instruments in community engagement and cultural expression.
