Bicol Voices Chorale

The Bicol Voices Chorale (BVC) was formed on September 19, 2021. Dr. Jim is also a clinical psychologist.

The choir is composed of young adults from different walks of life, with a simple shared goal of experiencing happiness through singing together and making beautiful music. BVC's choirmaster is Jim Rey Baloloy, an alumnus of the internationally acclaimed Novo Concertante Manila. With BVC, he aims to establish a community of singers that can, at the same time, be a peer support group - a safe spac

e for people who journey together in music. The BVC currently sings at the 9:30AM mass every 3rd Sunday of the month at St. Gregory the Great Parish (Albay Cathedral) in Legazpi City.

This concert is presented to you by the St. Dominic de Guzman Parish and the Local Government Unit of Sto. Domingo, Albay, in celebration of National Heritage Month. This is also brought to you by Councilor Dino Surtida, Pipay Purified Water, Youngskiin Aesthetic and Wellness Clinic, Ranga Psychosocial Services, Mirisbiris Garden and Nature Center, Radyo Vertias Legazpi, and Spirit FM Legazpi.

Last night during rehearsals, we had an awe-inspiring learning session with Mr. Joey Vargas, creative director of the Philippine Madrigal Singers and festival director of the Andrea O. Veneracion International Choral Festival. Thank you so much po, sir Joey!

We would also like to thank manay Glenda and sir Chris Newhall for lending us a space at Mirisbiris Garden and Nature Center for our rehearsals. Thank you for taking care of us!

The St. Dominic de Guzman Parish in Sto. Domingo, Albay is one of the most cherished baroque churches in the province of Albay. It was first built in 1785 and has stood the test of time as a testament of the Bicolano Catholic faith.

Mari na kita asin magburunyog sa St. Dominic de Guzman Parish sa Mayo 30, 2026, 7PM para sa sarung konsierto - "𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐠", tampok ang Bicol Voices Chorale! Let’s all enjoy an evening of choral music. We will be singing to you a repertoire of musica sacra, folk songs, love songs, and contemporary music.

The concert is FREE.

Pagkaburunyog is about peace and togetherness in our community. We thought perhaps we could give you a sneak peak of what we are preparing for you for our May 30 concert.

We would like to give a very special thanks to manay Glenda and Dr. Chris Newhall for hosting us at Mirisbiris Garden and Nature Center as we conducted our team building camping activity to strengthen our pagkaburunyog as a choir. We couldn’t pass up the chance to do a simple yet very timely recording there of sir Nilo Alcala’s beautiful arrangement of “Imagine” by John Lennon. Maraming salamat po!
