The Unseen Struggle of Filipino Performing Artists

There is a sad reality that many performing artists in the Philippines continue to face. Like some of our athletes, countless singers, dancers, musicians, and other performers who represent our country on the international stage often have to fund their own journey just to compete and bring honor to the Philippines.

I experienced this firsthand. I reached out to different offices hoping for even a small amount of support. I waited for hours outside one office, only to be told to go home because the official has a more important meeting to do. I sent several emails, received one reply, and then never heard back again. It was disheartening.

Despite these experiences, I refuse to believe that the dream ends there. God made a way. Through His grace, He sent people and mostly private individuals and organizations who believed in me and helped make my journey possible. I will always be grateful to every person who extended their kindness and support.

To every Filipino artist who continues to chase a dream despite the odds, I salute you. Your talent has value. Your passion matters. Keep going. I pray that God will also send the right people, His instruments, to help you fulfill the purpose He has placed in your heart.

May the day come when every Filipino artist representing our country receives the support and recognition they truly deserve.
