People often don’t realize how expensive color tattoos actually are.

This piece alone used around **23 different colors**. Even the smallest bottle of professional tattoo ink costs around **₱350 each**, which means the ink alone comes to roughly **₱8,050** — and that’s before needles, setup, hygiene products, machine wear, gloves, wraps, stencil materials, cleaning supplies, and the artist’s time and experience.

On top of that, every color requires extra work:

* separate needle usage,
* constant cleaning and switching,
* more setup time,
* and a much longer tattooing process overall.

That’s why some prices in the tattoo industry are honestly suspiciously low. There’s simply no realistic way to properly execute a quality half sleeve for ₱15k when a medium-sized full-color tattoo can already consume almost that amount in materials and labor alone.

Script lettering tattoos are one of the most timeless tattoo styles because they carry meaning through words, names, quotes, prayers, dates, or even single letters. The style became hugely popular in early tattoo culture through Chicano lettering, prison-style script, old English, and handwritten cursive done mostly with coil machines. Today, script tattoos are everywhere — from fine-line minimalist pieces to bold flowing calligraphy.

Script tattoos been popular since early tattoo days and honestly they never went out of style. From old school names and quotes done with coil machines to modern fine lettering today — good script always stands out.

People think lettering is simple till they actually tattoo it. Clean ex*****on is everything. One shaky line and everybody sees it. That’s why I still appreciate solid coil machines for script work — crisp lines, smooth pull and that classic feel you can’t really fake. - Thank you Viny for making all this tattooing journey

Yesterday was more than just meetings.
Spent the day with Geelou Cabelles and Ronnie Macapagal working on the future of Cebu Tattoo Club and preparations for Cebu Tattoo Wars.

People often see only the final event, the trophies, the tattoos, the stage. But behind every tattoo gathering is hours of planning — organizing logistics, building judging criteria, discussing rules, coordinating artists, solving problems, and making sure everything comes together the right way.

And honestly, that’s what makes this industry special.
Not just the tattoos. Not the money.

It’s the friendships built along the way, the conversations, the shared passion, the memories created during late meetings, coffee stops, travels, and collaborations with people who love the craft as much as you do.

Being a tattoo artist goes far beyond tattooing skin — it becomes a lifestyle, a community, and a story you keep building every single day.
