๐ง๐๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐ฌ๐๐ฆ ๐๐๐ฅ๐-๐ง๐ข๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ฆ๐ ๐๐จ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฅ ๐๐ง. The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) has expressed interest in upscaling the valleyโs famous strawberry farm by constructing a state-of-the-art agri-tourism information center.
Mark Lapid, TIEZAโs chief operating officer, said the facility will boost local tourism, noting that the farm has become a top favorite destination in the north.
Lapid mentioned TIEZAโs commitment to the project when he visited the La Trinidad municipal gym here this morning where he represented his father, Senator Lito Lapid, in distributing food packs to porters and packers at the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post.
In a huddle, Lapid also said that TIEZA is also willing to provide the necessary funding to complete the municipal government's community business center located near the LTVTP. He asked that the local government unit must submit with dispatch the technical and engineering plans of the building to be submitted to the TIEZA board for approval.
To expedite the strawberry farm project, Lapid urged mayor Roderick Awingan, vice mayor Guiller Galwan, and lawyer Jennilyn Dawayan, Department of Agriculture regional director in the Cordillera, to secure a usufruct agreement with Benguet State University (BSU), which owns the 77-hectare strawberry farm.
Once the agreement is executed, TIEZA can officially integrate the development costs for both the information center and the community business center and bankroll their completion.
