A comparison of resin printing and filament printing.
For durability, I 100% prefer filament printing, but if you're after details, resin is the way to go.
Next time, I'll post a photo of these two with the same primer paint so the comparison is clearer. Right now, the white filament doesn't really show how much detail the filament printer was able to capture, even with a 0.4 mm nozzle.
My filament printer was set to the finest possible settings for a 0.4 mm nozzle, so it took three hours just to print one piece. If I used a 0.2 mm nozzle to get finer details, the print time would probably skyrocket to around 12 to 15 hours. 😅 As for the resin print, I'm not 100% sure about the exact time since I didn't check the slicer after exporting, but it probably took 6 to 7 hours to print the same file. That batch already included six copies of the model.
Another big difference is that with filament printing, the more objects you add to the build plate, the longer it takes to finish. With resin printing, as long as the objects share the same height, it doesn't matter if you have one or multiple items on the plate, because the print time stays exactly the same.
