𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐒 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐇 𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

As we celebrate National Arts Month, we honor the weaving of our cultural identity, told through stories born from our shores, our streets, and our shared dreams.

The 𝐒𝐚𝐫ó𝐤 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥, together with 𝐀𝐤𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐚, stands proud in amplifying Aklanon voices, nurturing regional filmmakers, and keeping our stories alive through the power of film.

This month, we celebrate art that reflects who we are, where we come from, and where our dreams are headed. 𝐏𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐠-𝐮𝐛𝐫𝐚, 𝐩𝐚𝐠-𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐞, 𝐚𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐠-𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐠𝐨 𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐚𝐠𝐢 𝐬𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐮𝐥𝐚!

A sound you can hear only at the Sarók Short Film Festival!

An original composition by Romart Malapad Martesano and Sancho Gellegani, Dance of the Feet is where music and film move as one.

This powerful piece tells the story of our regional epic voyage legend—the convergence of the Western Visayan peoples, the migrants from Borneo, and the first inhabitants of Panay Island, the Ati. It is a rhythm rooted in history, identity, and pride.

A truly fitting opening for the Sarók Short Film Festival 2024—filled with meaning, movement, and soul.

We’re excited for what’s next:
the next big story,
the next powerful rhythm,
the next breakthrough film.
