Today, August 6, marks the start of the 2022 National Hospital Week Celebration!

In line with this, the Department of Health (DOH), in collaboration with hospitals, health facilities, agencies and offices, both government and private will commence the Opening Ceremony on August 8, 2022, at 8:00 AM, conducted through Webex teleconferencing and Facebook Live.

This celebration, themed "Ospital: Pagbangon mula sa Pandemya, Kayang-kaya Basta't Sama-sama," will bring together health agencies to recognize the health sector's collaborative efforts in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.

Join us as we express our gratitude and celebrate our healthcare heroes and the innovative ways they support and connect with their community.

This is an appreciation post and it is an ode to the people who have extended their help in cleaning up the hospital.

A hospital exists for the sick, the needy and the ill. Thus regardless of ownership it should be viewed as a neutral ground sans biases. I posted asking for help after three days when it seems everything is hopeless. When I asked for help in social media, it was not simply asking, it was a desperate almost hopeless call for help. After three days of cleaning up the hospital by ourselves it seems we are getting nowhere. Patients are coming in for consultation and some are for admission. I am touched by this gesture even if the hospital is in moribund state and in disarray, there they are. I asked for help not for me but for the many patients who continue to patronize us. It is because of them that I wanted the hospital to be 'livable'. But our plea fell into deaf ears. Fortunately one person, touched by the many pictures posted called me and said she will do everything to help me.

And this. Honestly I did not see this forthcoming but I want to thank Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, Mayor Raymund Tongson of Himamaylan for answering our call. Indeed you are a rare breed and how I wish there are more government officials like you. And to Amelyn G. Bravo thank you for being an instrument to all these. And to the real heroes, the BFP of Himamaylan and to SFO2 Roy Cabagay and the entire team, thank you. You showed us how selfless you are, and I will be forever indebted to all of you. And to the men and women of the hospital, and most especially to our patients who continue to trek come hell or high water, thank you.

And to the Lord, thank you for not letting me lose my faith in humanity.
