PUBLISH YOUR WORK

We're looking for external contributions for our upcoming digital magazine titled "Beasts and The Ugly Horns They Wear".

This issue is an anthology of digital illustrations, photographs, literary pieces, personal essays, feature stories, graphic literature, comics, short stories, and many more art forms.

Specifications:

🦌 ART
(a) the theme of this issue is Retropop x Surrealism.
(b) the artist can choose among the subjects provided:
anthropomorphic creatures, horned animals, beasts, monsters, demons.
(c) Use plain backgrounds. As much as possible, we want the subject to pop out of the image

🐏 WRITE-UPS
(a) we accept pieces that delve around one's personal monsters, the horrors in modern society, your views around socio-political issues, your childhood fears, symbolic pieces pertaining to horned animals/beasts, stories of triumph, and many more related subjects.
(b) we accept feature stories, personal essays, literary pieces (haiku, tanaga, long form/short form poems, prose), short stories, and many more forms.
(c) writers may use English or Filipino as a medium.

🦄 PHOTOGRAPHS
Subjects can be (a) horned animals (b) genuine human emotions such as fear, hunger, joy, etc (c) nightscapes (d) urban shots (e) photos of the moon (f) photos of war, revolts (g) photos of the wildlife

PS: Photo manipulation is highly encouraged.

REMINDERS:

All works should be ORIGINAL. Works caught of plagiarism shall be disqualified.

Make sure to include your (1) complete name (2) address and your (3) contact number in your cover letter.

In submitting an entry, the author shall gain full ownership of their work. However, Project Thorns has the right, upon consultation with the author, to edit portions of the work to suit the demands of the digital publication.

Please give the issue editors a response time of at least two months before inquiring about the status of your submission.

As part of the PRIDE MONTH celebration, Sine Saklaw would like to share its award-winning LGBT short film entitled "POSITIVE". It will premier on YOUTUBE on June 24, 2020, at 6:00 PM Philippines (GMT+8)time. It will only be streamed for a limited time during the month of June. This short film was awarded 2nd place in SALIDA 2019 that was held last November 2019.
SALIDA is the first and one of its kind short film festival funded by the Provincial Government of Cotabato in partnership with the SK Provincial Federation- North Cotabato.

POSITIVE is a film about issues that we might not encounter daily but are happening around us. Each character embodies an issue and shows us how they reacted...

Congratulation to all the film makers for this year's Lantaw Festival especially to my cast and staff of PLAY ME who won 3rd BEST SHORT FILM, BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY and BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR (JL Seniel). We are very happy to compete with the creators of Gugmang Giatay, Eda Sala Go, Elementado and Murat. See you next year. :)
