The Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam (DMDI), an international organization with a growing network of more than 23 member states and institutions across the Malay and Muslim world, under the leadership of His Excellency Tun Setia Seri Utama Dr. Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, Governor of Melaka and the President of DMDI, extends its warmest congratulations to MP-elect Datu Abdurrahman โRubbilโ Sangki Mangudadatu, MP-elect Datu Ali Balayman Sangki, and the entire BARMM Grand Coalition (BGC) on the conclusion of the Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections.
DMDI, together with its arm organizations and partners, joins the people of the Mindanao Region in recognizing this important moment in the continuing journey of the Muslim Mindanao Region toward peace, self-governance, inclusive development, and a stronger regional identity.
This occasion is particularly meaningful to DMDI because of the deep historical, cultural, and familial connections that bind the peoples of the Malay and Muslim world. The ties between Melaka and the Province of Sultan Kudarat under the leadership of Sultan Pax S. Mangudadatu and Datu Suharto Mangudadatu are rooted not only in shared heritage, traditions, and faith, but also in a common aspiration for communities to preserve their identity while embracing cooperation, progress, and peaceful coexistence.
DMDI recognizes that the democratic process is an important expression of the peopleโs aspirations. The mandate entrusted to the newly elected Members of Parliament carries with it the responsibility to represent diverse communities, uphold dialogue, strengthen institutions, and contribute to a peaceful and prosperous Bangsamoro.
We extend our sincere congratulations to the BARMM Grand Coalition and to all those who participated in the electoral process. Beyond political affiliations, DMDI celebrates the democratic participation of the people and the continued development of institutions that can serve the aspirations of present and future generations.
As an organization committed to strengthening cooperation among the Malay and Muslim communities, DMDI looks forward to continuing its engagement with the Bangsamoro Government, its Parliament, local communities, civil society, and partner institutions in areas of mutual interest including culture, education, tourism, economic cooperation, youth development, heritage preservation, and people-to-people relations.
May this new chapter open greater opportunities for collaboration between Melaka, the Bangsamoro, Sultan Kudarat Province and the wider Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam community.
