Allah gives us space to prepare and clarity about what makes this month different.
The Quran itself ties Ramadan to revelation, reminding us that this is the month guidance was sent down for people, not as something distant, but as something to return to. One of the simplest ways to begin preparing is to ask Allah to reconnect the heart to His words, especially if distance has crept in quietly.

Allahumma ajβal al-Qurana rabiβa qalbi.
Ya Allah, make the Quran the spring of my heart.
The Prophet ο·Ί described Ramadan as a month where the conditions change. The gates of Jannah are opened and the gates of Jahannam are closed. Mercy is made more accessible and forgiveness is placed within reach. That description is meant to move us early, before the month rushes past. Asking for forgiveness ahead of time clears what we already know needs to be cleared, so Ramadan does not begin with unnecessary weight.

Allahummaβghfir li wa tub βalayya.
Ya Allah, forgive me and accept my repentance.
In this month, Shaytan is restrained and the resistance that usually presses on the heart becomes lighter. Struggle does not disappear, but effort feels different. When worship still feels difficult even with that help, the most honest response is to ask Allah for assistance in staying consistent and sincere.

Allahumma aβinni βala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni βibadatik.
Ya Allah, help me remember You, thank You and worship You well.
Allah also treats deeds in Ramadan differently. Even small efforts are multiplied and even worship done while tired or distracted is still written generously. This is why protecting one simple deed can matter more than chasing many ambitious plans. When doubts creep in about whether what we are doing is enough, the most fitting response is to ask Allah for acceptance.

Allahumma taqabbal minni.
Ya Allah, accept from me.
Forgiveness is offered widely in this month, so much so that missing it is described by the Prophet ο·Ί as a real loss. Ramadan gives space to release guilt that has been carried too long and to return honestly, without excuses or delay.

Allahumma innaka βafuwwun tuhibbul-βafwa faβfu βanni.
Ya Allah, You are Most Forgiving and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.
Because so much is given, preparation matters. Not as pressure, but as awareness. Reducing distractions. Making room. Asking Allah to place blessing in time that already feels full.

Allahumma barik li fi waqti.
Ya Allah, place blessing in my time.
And before anything else, before plans or goals, preparation begins with asking Allah to carry us safely into the month itself and to accept whatever we are able to offer.

Allahumma sallimni ila Ramadan, wa sallim li Ramadan, wa tasallamhu minni mutaqabbalan.
Ya Allah, allow me to reach Ramadan, allow Ramadan to reach me and accept it from me.
As the days count down, begin here. With duβaa. With intention. With small, honest steps. Ramadan is built for return and Allah has already made the path lighter for those who are willing to take it.
