โ€œThe test of time; the beauty of impermanence; values no one.โ€ Catalyst embodies the deep, intense, expressionist atmosphere that reflects the limited concept of time in its extremity. The artwork is characterized by extended and dramatic outlines, concrete textures, and intense contrasts of bold red and dirty yellow. The facade of the woman wearing mainly black attire serves as the main subject and expresses the longing and invites the viewers to feel the grief and heaviness that she feels upon her soul. At the bottom of the painting we can see the subject holding a white cat, symbolizing peace and eternity, a contrast between the despairing colors of deep black and red. Through this artwork, I wanted to present a unique chaos that is only found in one's existence of belonging and permanence; one that resonates with the feeling of nostalgia and creating a life where the passing and stillness of time coexist in a world of uncertainty between life and death.

SWING UNDER THE FULL MOON

This atmospheric impasto painting wraps the scene in deep, velvety bluesโ€”from rich indigo to soft cobaltโ€”building a quiet, dreamlike night. A great luminous full moon dominates the upper sky, its pale milky glow rendered in thick, textured brushstrokes that make it feel warm and alive, while faint stars dot the dark backdrop like scattered stardust. To one side stands a gnarled, lea๏ฌ‚ess tree, its dark silhouette stretching long branches across the frame. GOTOH THE ROCK!

This painting is quite literally the reason I pursued music. Bocchi, my glorious socially anxious, lonely, introverted, guitar shredding queen. Bocchi, sheโ€™s pathetic and you could say a loser, but she wanted to change she doesnโ€™t want to be like that forever. She practiced guitar wanting to join a band. The painting shows her guitar this is the instrument she used. It is also the guitar that I have as Bocchi had inspired me to play guitar. You can also see the bandโ€™s logo โ€œkessoku bandโ€ the thing that changed her life when drummer Nijika Ichiki recruits her for the band. I really sympathized with her because her life changed because of music, mine did too. As someone who has social anxiety I relate so much to Bocchi thatโ€™s why I wanted to be like her, to change myself and be better. Bocchi you really are the GOAT. Bocchi you rock, Bocchi the rock.
