As an advocate of Graciano Lopez Jaena. Here are corrected information.

🚨 FACT CHECK:

Setting the Record Straight on Graciano López Jaena 🇵🇭

When we talk about our national heroes, it’s easy to repeat old myths—but accurate history matters. Let’s correct two major misconceptions about the "Prince of Filipino Orators" that often slip into modern videos:

❌ Myth 1: He died in a hospital.

✅ Fact: Graciano passed away alone in his residence/apartment in Barcelona, Spain, not in a hospital ward.

❌ Myth 2: His family was completely poor and destitute.

✅ Fact: While they weren't ultra-wealthy sugar barons, they were far from impoverished. They occupied a respectable, modest middle-class strata with significant social capital.

The Proof?

He had access to elite, multi-year schooling at the Jaro Seminary.

His family funded his relocation to Manila for a medical apprenticeship.

His maternal uncle, Claudio López, was the Honorary Vice-Consul of Portugal in Iloilo, placing his family firmly within influential, educated diplomatic circles.📚

These critical corrections and updated archival records are heavily detailed in the groundbreaking books:

1️⃣ Graciano's Dirty Fingers by Emmanuel Alfeche Lerona (which re-examines newly recovered primary sources from Spain and the Philippines)

2️⃣ Mightier than the Sword and Graciano Lopez Jaena by Demy Sonza.

Graciano was a radical, brilliant, and complex thinker who sacrificed real social privilege for our freedom.👇

Guess who visited the Hubon Taliambong Community Theater headquarters during our last rehearsal? 🎭

None other than Señor Kim Palomero himself. The son of the renowned Zarzuela artist, Ms. Wilsonia Capadocia— Palomero, who dropped by to express his full support for the organization’s upcoming production!

Having his encouragement means the world to us as we keep the flame of local theater alive. Stay tuned for what's coming next!
