Could we hear that chant again in Dinagyang 2027?
TRIBU BOLA-BOLA : A LEGACY THAT NEVER LEFT. ๐ฅ
Before Dinagyang became what it is today, there were tribes that helped shape its identity, and Tribu Bola-Bola stands among the most influential.
Representing Iloilo National High School, Bola-Bola became one of the most successful tribes in Dinagyang history, earning eight championship titles in 1994, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2004. ๐
But its legacy was never just about trophies.
Tribu Bola-Bola pioneered the use of mobile risers, an innovation that added depth and another dimension to Dinagyang choreography and eventually became a prominent feature of the festival.
More importantly, Bola-Bola became part of a larger performing-arts tradition at Iloilo National High School, alongside the school's Dagyaw Theater and Dance Company. Through the years, its legacy helped nurture generations of dancers, artists and performing-arts practitioners who carried the discipline, creativity and spirit of Dinagyang beyond the competition stage.
That is why Bola-Bola is more than a name in the list of champions.
It is part of the foundation of Iloilo's Dinagyang culture.
And perhaps that is why, even after all these years, one chant can still bring everything back:

Tribu Bola-Bola has remained a name that Ilonggos remember. โค๏ธโ๐ฅ
