Every September, we celebrate Generics Awareness Month, reminding us of the important role generic medicines play in making healthcare more affordable and accessible to every Filipino.

Generic medicines are not simply a cheaper option. They are required to meet standards for quality, safety, and effectiveness, giving patients an affordable alternative to branded medicines. Through proper knowledge and understanding, we can help address common misconceptions and encourage people to make informed choices about their health.

As future pharmacists, we have a responsibility to educate, guide, and help patients understand that choosing a generic medicine does not mean compromising quality. Sometimes, making healthcare more accessible starts with simply knowing that you have a choice.
