ON STAGE: The UPV Living Room Theatre performed a poetry and song piece for the UPV Pahinugod, Gindut-an: Panublion sang Serbisyo on July 9, 2026.

The event was held to honor the services offered by the graduating UPV Pahinungod volunteers during their stay in the university.

Set in the province of Antique, it recounts the story of 𝐍𝐚𝐲𝐚, who has been taken into the mythical world of 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐠. Her sojourn starts when she hears a faint siren song, attributed to Katipayan’s singing on a stone table at Punta Hagdan. Unknown to her, her matrilineal lineage carries the sacred water, the famed first “tear” of Katipayan, that can only be found in the inland lake called Tinagong Dagat.

The UPV Living Room Theatre (LRT) invites you to an exclusive screening of CINEMARTYRYS, a work by acclaimed independent filmmaker Sari Dalena, professor at the University of the Philippines and former director of the UP Film Institute. Sari is one of the pioneers of Filipino Experimental Film.

SYNOPSIS
A young filmmaker sets out to recreating forgotten massacres from Philippine history but when she is challenged by the committee that is belittling her skills, she agrees to go to the present-day war-torn locations where the atrocities occurred. Overcoming one obstacle after another with her small crew, when they begin shooting at a site where a thousand men, women and children were slaughtered, angry spirits are awakened and the lives of her team and the villagers are put in peril; the brutal traumas of history echoing to the present day.
