โ€œIlluminaโ€

The parol features newly born Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, showcasing the Nativity of Christ,
position at the center of the parol as the symbolism of the main source of light. The design of the parol is associated with the word โ€Illuminaโ€ it is to illuminate color and creativity, two crucial features that reflect the Centralian Visual Artists Society (CENVAS), where artists of
Central Philippine University (CPU) gather together and share the passion of creating art. In line with this, the parol was created by using scraps including recyclable and reusable
materials gathered by all the members, it includes old plastic spoons, disregarded canvas
edges, styro cups, plastic cups, plastic straws, old tarpaulin, old CDs, ping-pong balls, yarn, a
net, and some aluminum foil, ensuring to repurpose this materials to modify it to making
this design. It also includes indigenous materials, the main designs that were utilized to the parol are from materials found around the area such as dried palm leaves and other dried leaves, bamboo sticks, old rattan, and kawayan. All materials used were reshaped into
resembling flowers and other nature themed designs, to capture the look of a parol that is
truly made out of simple materials that can look absolutely stunning, and the back part is
made of a sintra board cut in a shape that resembles the letter โ€œCโ€ for Cenvas, an artistic-
take of the Cenvas logo, reimagining it as a colorful Christmas ornament, with the iconic
paintbrush on the middle.
