I used to think that growth was loud-
a sudden bloom,
a song of victory,
a grand unveiling.

But it’s quieter than I imagined.
It’s forgiving myself
for the years I didn’t know better.

Growth doesn’t always feel like winning.
Sometimes it feels like loss-
until one day, you look in the mirror
and realize
you’re proud of the stranger staring back.
