🌊🐢 BACK WHERE IT BELONGS! 🐢🌊

A beautiful moment unfolded at the Buenavista Tourism Hub today as a rescued pawikan (sea turtle) was successfully released back into its natural ocean habitat!
This heartwarming event was made possible through the joint efforts of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) - Gubat and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

🤝 A Community effort for Conservation
The pawikan was voluntarily surrendered by a responsible local resident—a testament to the growing environmental awareness in our municipality. Under the leadership of Mayor Ronnel U. Lim, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Gubat has been actively pushing for marine conservation through continuous education and incentives for residents who help protect our wildlife.

📊 Data gathering
Before heading back to the big blue, MENRO and PCG officials made sure to take the sea turtle's official measurements and gather basic data to help track and study our marine biodiversity.

👧👦 Next Gen Eco-Warriors
Mayor Ronnel U. Lim was personally on site to witness the release, joining a delighted crowd of locals. The highlights of the day were the bright smiles and excited cheers from the children who gathered to watch, learning firsthand the importance of protecting our oceans.

Thank you to everyone involved in keeping Gubat’s marine life thriving! Let’s continue to protect our seas and our pawikans. 💙

HAPPENING NOW! 🌾🌊

Today, the Gubat Tourism Hub in Buenavista is buzzing with energy as various cooperatives from Gubat and nearby towns congregate to celebrate the 104th International Day of Cooperatives 2026!

Under the theme "Building Bridges: Cooperatives contribution for a Peaceful World," this year’s celebration features a special Cassava Planting and Green Tourism Initiative.

This event directly highlights Mayor Ronnel U. Lim's continued push for stronger cooperative development intertwined with sustainable tourism.

The morning kicked off with warm welcome remarks from Vice Mayor Anthony C. Callos, followed by an inspiring keynote message from Mayor Ronnel U. Lim, emphasizing our shared commitment to community growth and environmental stewardship.

Our co-op members are currently gearing up for a meaningful day of action! We are setting up a sustainable living fence through a cassava planting activity along the hub, alongside a beach clean-up to keep our coastlines pristine.
