These 3 games show how Filipino-made projects turns familiar roots into fresh playable experiences 😱
Three Filipino-developed games are bringing local stories, culture, and emotions into different kinds of gameplay. Tambakan Taktiks turns a beloved barangay game into a deck-building roguelite about confidence, strategy, and mech card battles. Takipsilim takes inspiration from Bicolano mythology, following a chosen champion of the moon goddess Haliya in a 3D action RPG set in eternal twilight. Corazon offers a more emotional journey, using Bicol vocabulary puzzles and spirit-world exploration to tell a story about grief, memory, and a child’s love for her family.
These games were developed by Filipino student creators under the guidance of adviser Edlaine Ann S. Mercado, MCGA. Tambakan Taktiks was developed by Aubrey Marie C. Montecino, Clarize C. Famisaran, Marc Joseph C. De Vera, Helious Agnon A. Portuguez, and Rolando O. Lim. Takipsilim was developed by Siddhartha Louise Ababon, Sophia Margarette O. Brioso, Claire C. Gonzaga, and Roel Vince M. Sabaupan, while Corazon was developed by Veronika Zofia Prado.
