ART FOR A CAUSE: this series consists of artwork by 6 artists from Palawan, coming together in the spirit of community-building, using art as the medium.

💌 A portion of the sales will be used for art programs for children in communities highly affected by the recent super typhoon.

WHAT: Baybayin Calligraphy Workshop
WHEN: June 30, 2025 (Monday), 2:00PM-4:30PM
WHERE: The Art Collective, El Nido town
WHO: Anyone age 10 and older

Join the workshop to gain an understanding and appreciation for this ancient Philippine writing system. Learn how to write Tagalog words and stylize your name in decorative calligraphy.

The class will be conducted by Gary Canlapan, tattooist and painter, long-time enthusiast of Baybayin as an art form and as an important part of Philippine culture and history.

The Senate unanimously voted to approve the proposed Revised Animal Welfare Act on third reading on Monday, June 2, 2025.

Sponsored by Sen. Grace Poe, Senate Bill No. 2975, which establishes a system of supervision and regulation of keeping, handling, transporting, breeding, training, and treating animals, among others, is seen to put an end to the spate of animal cruelty in the country.

"The bill is not merely token legislation. We cannot continue treating animal protection as an after-thought...More importantly, it is a declaration of dignity," Poe said as she called on the passage of a counterpart bill in the House of Representatives.
