On this National Heroes Day, we remember the brave souls who fought for our freedom, defended our sovereignty, and shaped the nation we call home. Their courage and sacrifice live on—not only in the pages of history, but in the countless Filipinos who continue to serve, persevere, and inspire.

To our frontliners, teachers, workers, mothers, fathers, friends, and everyday Filipinos: you don't need superpowers to be a hero. Sometimes, heroism is found in the quiet sacrifices, the long days, the difficult choices, and the strength to keep going even when no one is watching.

Today, we celebrate International Youth Day, observed every August 12, and recognize the incredible potential of young people to become catalysts for positive change in our communities and beyond.

This year’s theme, "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations," reminds us that although we come from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, we share a common aspiration—to create a better, more inclusive, peaceful, and sustainable future.

As members of the Renaissance Youth Leaders Forum, we believe that youth leadership goes beyond holding positions. It is about using our voices, skills, and collective action to serve others and contribute meaningfully to our community.

Through civic engagement, collaboration, and service, may we continue to bridge differences, empower one another, and turn our shared aspirations into meaningful action. Our diversity makes us stronger, and our commitment to service gives purpose to our leadership.
