The Ngilngig Asian Fantastic Film Festival is back, and we recently attended its media preview event and watched five short films included in its roster.

Davao's genre cinema festival returns for its 10th edition from October 24 to 28, 2026. This year's theme is Metamorphosis, celebrating a decade of Asian “ngilngig” and fantastic cinema.

Featuring 50 new short films from the Philippines and across Asia, plus feature films, a cinematography workshop, an industry talk, and WIP Night on October 27.

The Ngilngig Film Camp 2026 also runs from October 19 to 22 for aspiring filmmakers.

The closing reception and awards are on October 28.
