Another sculpture complete. This work is inspired by the Ata Manobo tribe of Mindanao.

​Known as the 'dwellers of the heights,' the Ata Manobo traditionally inhabit the highlands of Davao del Norte and Bukidnon. Their attire is distinguished by intricate beadwork, featuring accessories such as the sangkad (headband), sul-oy (earrings), and libod (belt)—often crafted using young bamboo and finely woven elements.

Inspired by the Ibaloi Tribe of the Cordilleras, this piece is the male counterpart to my previous work. It also draws inspiration from Baguio’s iconic 'Deer Hunter' wood sculpture. This mixed-media artwork was created using Pioneer Non-sag Epoxy and finished with acrylic paints.

​The Koi Fish (specifically Nishikigoi) is revered in many Asian cultures, particularly Japanese and Chinese, and represents:
​Perseverance and Strength: Due to their legendary ability to swim upstream and against strong currents.
​Good Fortune and Success: They are often associated with overcoming adversity to achieve one's goals.
​Wealth and Abundance: In Chinese culture, the word for fish, yú (魚), sounds similar to the word for "surplus" or "abundance," making them powerful symbols of prosperity.
