Perfect game fowl

The Claret is one of the oldest and most influential American gamefowl bloodlines. It is widely credited to John H. Madigin (often spelled Madigan in some sources), who developed and refined the strain during the early 1900s. �
Origin
The Claret bloodline is believed to have originated accidentally when a Duryea Whitehackle hen was bred to a c**k from Hank Dean's stock. The resulting offspring produced nine deep wine-red stags, whose color resembled claret wine, giving the new strain its name. �
