It is a distinct honor to announce the presence of our special guest, 𝗝𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲 𝗠. 𝗢𝘁𝗮𝗵𝗶, first-year Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English student from Holy Cross of Davao College. A distinguished representative of Davao City’s rich cultural tapestry and artistic excellence.

Ms. Otahi currently holds the title of 𝗛𝗶𝘆𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗯𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 (Hiyas sa Kadayawan), a testament to her leadership and commitment to her community. Her profound understanding of her heritage was further recognized during the coronation, where she was awarded Best in Cultural Presentation for her masterful portrayal of indigenous traditions.

Beyond her title, Ms. Otahi is a versatile and accomplished artist. Her professional background includes:

• Theater Arts: A seasoned actress with a deep command of the stage.
• Music: A professional singer-songwriter and composer, notably recognized as a vocalist for the artistic group Anak To Manama.
• Cultural Advocacy: A proud member of the Ata Tribe from Paquibato, she serves as a vital link between the preservation of ancestral wisdom and contemporary artistic expression.

Beyond the choreography, our sessions are currently focused on strategic mapping and technical planning to ensure every movement honors the play’s narrative scale. These preparations, grounded in collaborative discussions and meticulous spatial design, are laying the vital foundation for a performance that authentically bridges the past and the present.

Andut serves as the devoted musician and spiritual voice of the Bagobo-Tagabawa, dedicating his artistry to the exaltation of Manama, the Supreme Creator. Through the sacred resonance of his instruments and the lifting of his voice in chant, he transforms every melody into a profound act of worship and a bridge to the divine presence that dwells atop Mt. Apo. As a faithful vessel of his heritage, Andut interprets the rhythms of the natural world as expressions of Manama’s will, ensuring that the tribe’s spiritual devotion remains as steadfast as the mountain itself. His music is not merely a cultural practice but a continuous prayer, weaving the essence of the Tagabawa soul into a harmonious tribute to their Creator.

Established within the rugged frontiers of the Baguio District, Owad stands as a formidable warrior and a primary defender of the Obu Manuvu people. His presence in the region represents the strength and martial resilience of his tribe, serving as a direct challenge to any who seek to impose singular authority over the highland territories. Defined by his prowess in combat and his deep-seated commitment to the ancestral rights of his kin, Owad embodies the spirit of a vanguard whose life is dedicated to the preservation of his people’s heritage.

His role is most prominently defined by his enduring rivalry with Datu Kun’neng of the Bagobo Klata. As they both inhabit the strategically significant lands of the Baguio District, their relationship is marked by a persistent friction over territorial boundaries and cultural dominance. While Kun’neng governs with the weight of a Datu’s political authority, Owad counters with the raw, disciplined power of a warrior, ensuring that the Obu Manuvu remain a sovereign and unshakable force in the Davao highlands.
