Behind the Uniform: The Unseen Sacrifice of a Traffic Enforcer
To anyone scrolling through social media, it is easy to leave a harsh comment or post a picture criticizing our work. We see the hurtful words, the heavy bashing, and the angry rants online. But before you type your next comment, we hope you can take a moment to look at the reality behind our uniforms.
We are out here on the road every single day. When the scorching heat of the sun burns our skin, we remain standing at the intersections to keep you moving. When sudden, torrential rains pour and flood the streets, we do not run for cover—we stay drenched to ensure your safety and manage the chaos.
Our duty does not stop when the world takes a break. While families gather to celebrate holidays like Christmas, New Year, and Holy Week, our own families eat without us. We sacrifice our special moments with our loved ones just so you can reach yours safely and on time. Beyond directing traffic, we are also the first responders on the road—assisting stalled vehicles, helping pedestrians cross safely, and managing unexpected road accidents.
We are human beings too. We feel the exhaustion, we hear the insults, and we go home to our families carrying the weight of the harsh words thrown at us online. We do not ask for praises, but a little respect and understanding would go a long way. We are out here doing our best to serve the public, rain or shine, holiday or weekday.
