We are so proud to celebrate Olivia as Matilda Wormwood in Matilda Jr. Cebu 2026!📚🎭✨

Olivia’s journey is a beautiful example of the power of cross-training. While ballet is an art form on its own, the skills developed through ballet discipline, musicality, coordination, body awareness, strength, flexibility, confidence, and performance quality can become a strong foundation for other disciplines and performing arts.

🩰 Ballet is more than learning steps. It trains the whole dancer.

For young performers, cross-training allows them to explore different forms of movement and expression while bringing the skills they develop in one discipline into another. Olivia’s ballet training can help support her stage presence, movement quality, musicality, and confidence as she takes on the exciting role of Matilda.🌟

At Balletcenter, we love seeing our dancers take what they learn in the studio and bring it beyond the ballet room—whether that means stepping onto a musical theater stage, exploring another dance style, or pursuing a completely different passion.

We congratulate Alita Mischka Kesner for winning Silver in the Toddler Any Style Solo category at the Philippine Challenge Cup Dance Competition (PHCCDC) 2026, held last July 24–27, 2026!

The Philippine Challenge Cup Dance Competition (PHCCDC) 2026 is a major multi-genre dance competition featuring soloists, ensembles, and various age divisions from toddlers to teens.

Representing Cebu in the Toddler Category, Alita stood out among 24 competitors as the youngest participant. She was also the only competitor in her category to take part in all three PHCCDC Dance Workshop masterclasses: Ballet, Hip-Hop, and Contemporary—and she brought home the silver award! 🥈👏

Yesterday, Alita became the youngest and the only competitor to take part in all three PHCCDC Dance Workshop masterclasses: Ballet, Hip-Hop, and Contemporary.

From classical technique to urban grooves and expressive contemporary movement, she embraced every class with curiosity, courage, and a huge smile. ❤️

At just 6 years old, she reminds us that growth happens when we're willing to learn from everyone and try something new.
